ABOUT THE EVENT

Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Boston presents the fourth annual concerto competition at Sanders Theatre in Boston.

Pro Arte provides encouragement to Boston-area musicians in its annual concerto competition. The 2011 "Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra Concerto Competition" is open to all instrumentalists under 18 years of age on March 4, 2012 who are residents of, or students in, New England. Experience Boston's young talented artists in this concert.

Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Boston is an innovative, musician-run orchestra that brings a creative mix of classical and new music to the concert stage while truly reaching out to the community. Founded in 1978 by Harvard chaplain and visionary Larry Hill, Pro Arte is one of only four cooperative orchestras in the United States. Its players are among the area's finest free-lance musicians. In June of 1994 the Orchestra received an American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) award for adventurous programming of contemporary music.
