About the Event

Bizet's opéra‐comique in four acts, "Carmen", will be performed at the Gran Teatre del Liceu on Barcelona's famed avenue Las Ramblas. 

Carmen, a veritable archetype of opera, is unrivalled in popularity and the admiration of both musicians and artists. It has given rise to numerous adaptations and owes it greatness to its innovative conception, well‐crafted plot and brilliant melodic, harmonic and instrumental inventiveness.

This new production, directed by Calixto Bieito, is based on the one he created for the Peralada Festival.

In some areas of the Gran Teatre del Liceu it is possible to be seated with a partially obstructed view of the stage. The Gran Teatre del Liceu recommends Zone 2 for the finest and completely unobstructed view of the performance. The stage is not visable from seats starting in row 2 of Zone 8.  A monitor is provided for following the performance in this section. Only available for operas.
