Yannick Nézet‐Séguin dirige la Chamber Orchestra of Europe, un ensemble con una storia speciale. Fondata nel 1981 da giovani musicisti che si erano conosciuti nell'Orchestra Giovanile dell'Unione Europea, si è sviluppata fino a diventare un ensemble che ancora oggi è organizzato in modo democratico. Claudio Abbado è stato un mentore influente fin dall'inizio. Oggi la Chamber Orchestra of Europe è una delle orchestre da camera più importanti d'Europa.

It draws its membership of fifty musicians from fifteen countries; they perform together mainly in continental Europe where the orchestra has developed important links with the cities of Cologne, Frankfurt, Graz, London, Paris and Salzburg. From its inception the COE has appeared with the world’s leading conductors and has recorded over 200 works for which it has won many international awards. |
