Andrea Lucchesini: Scarlatti & Berio

演出简介

The Dijon Opera presents pianist Andrea Lucchesini, performing a solo programme at the Auditorium of Dijon.

As with trains, one Scarlatti can hide another: after Alessandro, the father, in November we meet Domenico, the son, who composed 550 sonatas, all different, running the gamut of emotions, from violence to tenderness, and requiring diabolical virtuosity and technique. The Italian pianist Andrea Lucchesini throws himself into the Scarlattian squall and dares to make the leap from these sonatas to the works of major contemporary Italian composers, notably Luciano Berio, of whom he is a specialist.

The two sonatas of Beethoven that predate his last, and which constitute his farewell to the sonata and the form in which he found his greatest creative intimacy, close this exceptional programme.
