Transglobal Underground: Ethno Music Days

The always innovative founding members of Transglobal Underground (TGU), Hamid Man Tu and Tim Whelan, have once again come up with a startling new idea, gathering musicians from all over Europe to meld traditional music with modern electronic sounds to produce a recording common to all of them.

They themselves describe it as “the beginning of a journey… The album is the map, but we don’t know what any of the travellers are going to experience along the way.” Taking part in the journey at the Palace of Arts alongside members of TGU itself, will be Bulgarian singers Perunika Trio (Eugenia Georgieva, Jasmina Stosic, and Dessislava Vasileva), English folk singer Jim Moray and VJ Miki Shaw. The Hungarian thread through the project is represented by Nóri Kovács (Balkán Fanatik), Iván Barvich (Sebő Ensemble) and DJ Lepe (Balkán Fanatik) – augmented on this occasion by the rest of Balkán Fanatik.
