The Budapest Spring Festival 2010 presents the Hungarian premiere of Péter Eötvös' opera "Love and Other Demons", with the Chemnitz Opera Company.

In August 2008 audiences at the Glyndebourne Opera Festival were the first to see Péter Eötvös’s new – fifth – opera. The work is based on the novel by Gabriel García Márquez, Love and Other Demons. Eötvös himself declared: “As a composer I regard myself as a mirror for the texts and situations. I have to play every role. Among my earlier pieces the music of Three Sisters is probably closest to the density of Love and Other Demons.”
