Ordo virtutum

演出简介

Is man worthy of salvation?

Saint Benedict believed so and explained how: man should abandon his own interests and instead obey the order of God. The Benedictine monks still practice this way of life today and have extended an invitation to follow their way of life for a day in St. Lambrecht's Abbey. The comprehensive music programme shows that God's order rings out through music. Hildegard of Bingen, a Benedictine nun herself, composed her morality play "Ordo Virtutum" on the eternal question of how man can be good. Thomas Tallis allows the heavens themselves to sing in his "Spem in alium".
