The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will perform an evening of Romantic music, featuring one of Antonin Dvorak's best loved works.

Dvorak's celebrated 'New World' Symphony is the composer's own musical 'letter from America'. Written during his time working there, it is both a hymn to the country and a nostalgic longing to return home, expressed in the famous cor anglais melody in the slow movement. Dynamic Danish conductor Thomas Dausgaard leads this programme, which begins with Rossini's lively Semiramide Overture and features talented Norwegian violinist Henning Kraggerud performing the boldly romantic Sibelius Violin Concerto.
