La Sonnambula: Vincenzo Bellini

演出简介

Be ravished by the music of Bellini at his most lyrical with Rollando Villazon staging this romantic tale. American coloratura soprano Nadine Sierra sings Amina in this concert performance.

Written just a few months before Norma, La Sonnambula enjoyed a great success in the 19th Century, sung by Pasta and Malibran, before sinking into relative obscurity until Callas returned it to prominence in the 1950s. Although the story is slight, the music exemplifies Bellini at his most tender, and most inventive, conveying the complex emotions of his sleepwalking heroine, powerless before this mysterious ailment, in some of his most delightful music.
