Stefan Herheim's landmark production of Puccini's 'La Bohème' returns to the Norwegian National Opera in Oslo, with Marita Sølberg in the starring role.
The first run of Herheim's 'Bohème' in 2012 made a tremendous impact on the opera world and was widely acclaimed by the press and the public. In this story of artists coping with cold and poverty on the fringes of Paris society, Herheim makes a small but vital adaptation that brings the central tragedy closer to the modern audience: Mimì suffers not from tuberculosis, but from cancer.
