El Amor Brujo at L'auditori de Barcelona

演出简介

Conductor Pablo Heras‐Casado, with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, one of the most important chamber orchestras of recent times, takes on two of the most emblematic works of Manuel de Falla: El amor brujo andEl sombrero de tres picos, the latter in commemoration of the centenary of its first performance.

Pablo Heras‐Casado is one of the most acclaimed Spanish conductors of our time. Guest conductor for the world’s most important orchestras, including the Berlin, Vienna, New York and Los Angeles Philharmonics and the London Symphony Orchestra and also a regular collaborator with the Freiburger Barockorchester and the Munich Philharmonic. Heras‐Casado joins us to perform the second of three live recordings being coproduced by L’Auditori and Harmonia Mundi. In 2017 it was works by Felix Mendelssohn with the Freiburger Barockorchester, and now in 2018, with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, one of the most important chamber orchestras of recent times, he takes on two of the most emblematic works of Manuel de Falla: El amor brujo andEl sombrero de tres picos, the latter in commemoration of the centenary of its first performance. Composed as music for ballet, both compositions have become part of the standard concert band repertoire as shining examples of the incorporation of folklore into classical forms and structures. Through these two works, Falla stylised traditional Spanish dances and incorporated the beats and rhythms of flamenco music and dance into symphonic music, at the same time as creating some of the most intense and recognisable classical music excerpts.
