Relish the historic resonance as Czech conductor Olga Machoňová Pavlů follows in the footsteps of her renowned countrywoman, Vítězslava Kaprálová. Kaprálová's premature death did not prevent her creating an acclaimed body of work, and the composer/conductor's 'Military Sinfonietta' begins the program.
A cello superstar on the rise, Kian Soltani plays Elgar's familiar Cello Concerto, before the Prague Symphony launches into Dvořák's Seventh Symphony. Simultaneously profoundly Czech and consciously international in its outlook, the work ranks among the composer's greatest symphonic works.
