The love between Daniele Gatti and the RCO blossoms in Mahler. In this concert, the impressive Seventh Symphony, alongside works by Webern — Ricercare and LangsamerSatz.

Daniele Gatti has been the chief conductor of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra since 2016. One of his goals: to develop a new vision of the repertoire together. Mahler's Seventh Symphony's five movements explores an array of musical styles. Although two of the movements are entitled Nachtmusik, this is not the sleepy idyll one might expect. Webern's three‐dimensional tribute to Bach is a fitting match for this extraordinary work.
