Enjoy a great Wagner programme at Barcelona´s Auditori with the Symphony Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu and conductor Josep Pons.

The OBC is increasing its collaboration with the Gran Teatre del Liceu in an artistic exchange. While the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya will be visiting the Liceu for the performances of "The Magic Flute" by Mozart, the Liceu's resident orchestra will be appearing in the OBC season performing an intensely symphonic programme, but one that is strongly linked to opera. Under the baton of Josep Pons – its resident conductor for the next season – the Orquestra Simfònica del Gran Teatre del Liceu will be getting up close and personal with the more symphonic Wagner through extracts from his opera "Parsifal", revealing the German composer's extraordinary talent in the purely orchestral sphere.

This concert will also be used to announce the two‐hundredth anniversary of the birth of Wagner that will be celebrated throughout 2013.
