Truls Mørk plays Dutilleux: French Youth Orchestra at the Philharmonie de Paris

演出简介

Discover the musicians of the future as the French Youth Orchestra plays under David Zinman, with guest cellist Truls Mørk. Wors by Honnegger, Dutilleux and Rachmaninov put the young orchestra to the test.

Honnegger's commitment to ensuring the success of modern music was such that he invented his own form — 'Rugby' is one of his best‐known symphonic movements. Dutilleux's cello concerto, entitled 'Tout un monde lointain' draws its inspiration from Baudelaire, and includes an epigraph from the poet verse at the conclusion of each movement. Rachmaninov's Third Symphony makes different demands of these young players — its intense emotions are a challenge to orchestras everywhere.
