Bel canto, literally "fine song", is the classic Italian school of singing technique. The term is also associated with Italy's golden age of opera in the 19th Century, during which intriguing vocal artists dazzled and dominated the world of opera with their refined voices of exquisite musical beauty. The dramaturgical potential to excite and entertain at this peak of Italian opera will be once again brought to life by the great and multi‐talented actress Marie Bäumer as she recites selected texts.
