The Friend and Lover

Conductor Jan Willem de Vriend and pianist Hannes Lnaar can read and write together. This is what their many collaborations show, especially in a successful Beethoven trilogy with Lnaar as soloist. Today De Vriend is standing in front of the Orquestra Simfònica Nacional de Cataluyna, where he is a regular guest conductor. Their compelling program starts with an overture of Fernando Sor. This guitar virtuoso from Barcelona, contemporary of Beethoven, places the story of Cinderella in fairytale‐like Spain.

Mozart

Hannes Lnaar plays the Ninth Piano Concerto, Mozart's 'Jenamy' in a sparkling, fresh and innovative manner. The concerto is a real showpiece that Mozart himself often performed. The Orquestra Symfònica Nacional de Cataluyna accompanies Lnaar in this 'wonder of the world', according to pianist Alfred Brendel.
Plus, De Vriend leads Schubert's monumental Ninth Symphony with a rhythmic roller coaster at the end. You will leave the venue dazzled.
