Roland Petit's first production for the Paris Opera Ballet, 'Notre‐Dame de Paris' (1965), is an intense work, set to original music by Maurice Jarre. Yves Saint Laurent created the vivid costume designs.

Around the four principal characters of Victor Hugo's masterful drama, a tragic story of love and death is played out.
