Mendelssohn & Beethoven: Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra

演出简介

After a tour in the Netherlands (Eindhoven Muziekgebouw) and Italy (Genoa and Cremona) the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra and its artistic director and violinist Sergej Krylov will appear at the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Hall with works by Mendelssohn and Beethoven.

The musicians will perform Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor saturated by transparent lyricism and crowning with a sparkling finale. Joseph Joachim, Austrian composer, conductor and violinist, described it as a treasure rising from the depth of the heart. After the intermission, the performers will present Beethoven’s Fourth Symphony in B flat major (1806). Fascinated by its second movement, the French composer Hector Berlioz claimed that it could have been composed by Archangel Michael, and not by a mortal.

The Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society welcomes music lovers to a variety of wonderful orchestral and chamber music concerts in Vilnius.
