Meister conducts Mozart & Mendelssohn
演出简介
Hanover native Cornelius Meister makes his conducting debut with the Orchestre de Paris in a varied program beginning with the overture to Hans Heiling by fellow Hanoverian Heinrich Marschner. Marschner, the great opera composer between Weber and Wagner, offers a shiver of mystery and premonition to precede Mozart’s rarely heard Concerto for Three Pianos with its magic and fantasy.
Though culturally far from Marschner’s Hanover, Mendelssohn’s Third Symphony is a contemporary of the operatic overture; its stirring harmonies and candor make the “Scottish” Symphony a favorite among audiences everywhere.
