Schumann's exquisitie concerto in A minor, written for his wife Clara, was said by the composer to occupy a place somewhere 'between the symphony, concerto and the great sonata'. Whatever its' designation, it certainly holds a central place in the repertoire of the acclaimed Argentinean pianist. Chailly's first love — opera — is also represented, with the orchestral suite from Verdi's I Vespri Siciliani.
