John Scott; Organ: Dresden Music Festival
演出简介
John Scott has won the hearts of audiences around the world playing the organs of Vienna’s Stephansdom, Notre Dame in Paris or the National Cathedral of Washington, to name but a few.
After having served as Director of Music at London’s St Paul’s Cathedral, he has been organist and choir director at St Thomas Church in New York since 2004. With the program he performs at Dresden’s Cathedral, he takes the Festival’s audience on a tour of his English homeland. Apart from two of the most well‐known English organists of the Renaissance, John Bull and William Byrd, the program also features new works from the British organ repertoire. The evening’s highlight will be the Organ Concerto, equally popular and virtuosic, by George Frideric Handel, who chose to spend most of his life in England.
