Järvi & Anderszewski: Ravel, Bartok & Debussy
演出简介
The twentieth century turned almost everything upside down and inside out, musically as well as politically. With four great works, Paavo Järvi illustrates the tremendous changes that characterized a most fascinating period in music history.
Beginning with the hesitant harmonies of Debussy's beloved 1892 Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun, the abandonment of classical form is already evident. Continuing on to WWI and beyond, the Orchestre de Paris delivers a rollicking performance of Ravel's bold Bolero after two deeply meaningful and contrasting works provided by a pair of extraordinary exiles: Bartok and Stravinsky. Piotr Anderszewski is the soloist in Bartok's alternately sublime and fiery Third Piano Concerto.
