Sir John Eliot Gardiner has been conducting Monteverdi's Vespers for the Virgin since 1964, and he has recorded it twice. It was in order to perform this work that he founded the Monteverdi Choir, one of the best choirs in the world, which will collaborate in this magnificent performance with the sublime English Baroque Soloists.
