Join Douglas Boyd, the Orchestre de chambre de Paris, Accentus, and singers from Great Britain's acclaimed Garsington Festival to celebrate Beethoven's paean to marital love.
Peter Mumford directs a semi‐staged production with video projections of his own design to take the audience into a world of arbitrary detention and marital fidelity, even in the face of injustice. Beethoven's only opera, 'Fidelio' is the culmination of several revisions and false starts, but both message and music have earned it a central place in the operatic canon.
