Canto ostinato: Polo de Haas & Kees Wieringa
演出简介
Experience one of the most popular pieces of Dutch new music.
Polo de Haas and Kees Wieringa's recording of Canto ostinato has sold more than 15,000 copies: a vast number for a new work from the Netherlands.
The work is Simeon Ten Holt's most popular composition, and is performed by many different artists on many different arrangements of keyboard instruments — pianos, organs, and even the carillon of Utrecht Cathedral have been used on occasion. This choice of instrument is just one of the many freedoms the composer allows the performers in this meditative, minimalist work, that usually takes around 2 hours to perform.
