DKO meets Avi Avital

Grammy‐nominated mandolin player Avi Avital joins the DKO Berlin for a concert featuring works by Vivaldi, Kodály, Bach, Dohnány, and contemporary composers Dorman, and Tsintsadze at the chamber music hall of the Philharmonie.

Avital is an internationally active musician known for unusual interpretations and musical experimentation. The young Israeli musician began his career with his own transcriptions of baroque concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach and brought the mandolin to the classical concert hall. He has expanded the repertoire for the instrument step by step, including contemporary repertoire, as featured in this concert with works Avner Dorman or the Georgian composer Sulkhan Tsintsadze.
