Beethoven & Smetana Piano Trios: Trio Cleonice
演出简介
Look back to Haydn with this American trio.
The combination of piano, violin and cello has been a popular one in classical chamber music since Haydn wrote his first trios. Trio Cleonice perform works that each look back to Haydn.
A new work by Richard Wernick (a student of Leonard Bernstein, and one of America's most popular living composers) is written with Beethoven in mind, as Beethoven had Haydn in mind when composing his Op. 1 trios.
Smetana's Piano Trio in G minor is not directly inspired by "Papa Haydn", but the Bohemian spent much of his time in deep study of his predecessor, and would have known Haydn's trios very well indeed.
