The Soldier's Tale: Stravinsky Festival
Sobre o Evento
Celebrate the neo‐classical legacy of Stravinsky as the Konserthuset pays tribute to the twentieth century's most influential classical composer.
Unusual instrumentation is often a feature of Stravinsky's chamber music, and both the Octet and the Suite from 'The Soldier's Tale' — a subversive and surprisingly jazzy work written as World War One drew to a close — features cornet, bassoon, double bass, and percussion alongside the violin. Trumpet section leader Joakim Agnas' 'Dance Suite' pays due hommage to the influence of the art form on Stravinsky's career.
