The Merry Widow

Sobre o Evento

The operetta by Franz Lehar in three acts will be performed by ten opera singers in costumes, in the intimate setting of the Anglican Church of Florence.

Count Danilo was not allowed due to family reasons to marry Hanna, a girl from the countryside. Whilst he tries to resolve his problems with girls at the Maxim, Hanna manages to marry the rich banker Glawari who dies in the wedding night. At a ball at the Embassy in Paris both meet again. Now Hanna is a rich widow, and every man wants to marry her — but not because of her beauty and intelligence, but only for her money. Also Danilo's love for Hanna inflamed again, but he does not dare to confess to her that he loves her — out of fear, he would be also accused being interested only in her money. Only when Hanna pretends by a trick, to be without money, both can fall into each others arms again.

Every act will be explained in English. Free champagne during the intermission.
