Relish the rich voice of the viola. Tabea Zimmermann, one of the world's most‐acclaimed viola players, brings a program of works for the instrument, including a world premiere, to Aix' Conservatoire Darius Milhaud.

Brahms lead the way in establishing the viola and voice as an ideal pairing, with Loeffler among those who followed. Andrea Hill joins Zimmermann for works by the two composers, and Edwige Herchenroder provides the piano voice in works by Kodály and Liszt. The jewel in the crown, however, is a new work by Charlotte Bray, for solo viola.
