Few places on earth have been the subject of so many beautiful elegies as Bohemia. The great father of Bohemian classical music, Bedrich Smetana, laid the groundwork for the pioneering work of Antonín Dvořák, a composer who paired elements of folk music with the great musical tradition of Vienna. The third event in Grafenegg’s stellar summer festival programme celebrates these two master composers in the stylish surroundings of the Grafenegg chateau in Lower Austria.

Jirí Belohlávek leads the renowned Prague‐based Czech Philharmonic featuring critically acclaimed mezzosoprano singer Berharda Fink through a riveting evening of Bohemian classics including Smetana’s String Quartet Nr. 1 in E minor, selected pieces from Dvořák’s Biblical Songs and the great New World Symphony.
