Christina & Michelle Naughton Four Hands Piano: Dvorak Prague Festival

Sobre o Evento

This 'Casual Friday' concert features works for piano for four hands performed by Christina and Michelle Naughton. Enjoy a program including Schubert, Dvořák, and Stravinsky in Prague.

Dvořák’s Slavonic Dances originated as a set of four‐hands pieces for piano. In the second part of this ‘nocturne’ you will hear a work rarely performed because of its difficulty: Stravinsky’s arrangement for two pianos of his Rite of Spring, which conversely challenges the players to ‘discover’ in the piano the sound and colours of a whole orchestra.

The Dvořák Prague Festival is not only a celebration of the work of the musical genius and the world's most acclaimed Czech composer, Antonín Dvořák, but also an important social event. It is a parade of outstanding performers, conductors, internationally recognized orchestras, and chamber ensembles that come to Prague to present Dvořák's music and other works of world‐renowned composers to an international audience.

Experience the music of this fascinating composer in the city where he spent most of his composing life.
