Violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja joins the Philharmonia Orchestra for a performance of works by Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky led by Vladimir Áshkenazi at the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid.

Russian pianist and conductor Vladimir Áshkenazi’s career took off after he won the 1955 International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. Over five decades later, he remains a firm fixture at the head of the world’s most renowned symphonic orchestras.
