Maria Grazia Bellocchio's laboratorium van ideeën is voortdurend in ontwikkeling, met 'A journey in Italy' en 'Aphorisms' voorafgaand aan een focus op Kurtág's Játékok en nu verkent 'Forms in time' echo's, spiegels en resonanties binnen de geschiedenis van de klaviermuziek. De concertstructuur presenteert driestemmige conversaties tussen solostukken voor piano van Alessandro Solbiati en Fabio Nieder en klavecimbelcomposities van 18e‐eeuwse meesters Rameau en Scarlatti. Op de achtergrond zijn vage echo's van Ligeti's caprices te horen, die een extra laag toevoegen aan de muzikale dialoog.
