In this programme of the Orchestre de Paris, two relatively unfamiliar names frame that of Tchaikovsky and his magnificent Violin Concerto, one of the most famous pieces in the classical music repertoire.

Eduard Tubin is the Estonian composer whose works motivated Veljo Tormis and Arvo Pärt as young musicians. Hans Rott's composition was only rediscovered a century after he wrote it in 1878 at the age of 20.
