Relish this collaboration of two Italian musical polymaths. Antonini and Sollima both possess noted talents in more than one area of musical endeavor, and this adds depths of perception to their performances, compositions, and interpretations.
Two symphonies with titles of dubious provenance — Schubert's 'Tragic' and Haydn's 'The Passion' — frame the latter's warm and lyrical Second Cello Concerto. A feast of Classicism and the earliest stirrings of the Romantic period, with an Itlianate flair to gladden the ear of any audience.
