Start the evening with a culinary delight and allow yourself to be spoiled with a delicious dinner before the concert. The Restaurant Gendarmerie is only a few minutes away from the Komische Oper and offers modern Berlin brasserie cuisine in a stylish ambience.
For 20 years the Festival Orchestra Berlin, a multicultural association of musicians from leading European orchestras, has been inspiring audiences with its repertoire of Baroque, Viennese Classicism and Romanticism, complemented by musical rarities.
In this concert, the young musicians will be dealing with the music of the Venetian grandmaster Antonio Vivaldi. With his interpretation of the four seasons, Vivaldi created a timeless work of art. Even a virtuoso violinist, the composer combined four violin concertos in 1725 to form the 'Four Seasons'. The natural phenomena of each season are enhanced by different sounds. The music portrays nature, animals and people in spring, summer, autumn and winter. In addition to Antonio Vivaldi's masterpiece, other Vivaldi highlights for violin and chamber orchestra will be heard in this concert. The orchestra plays on old Italian instruments and thus guarantees an outstandingly beautiful sound.
