Soprano Elisenda Pujals, baritone Lauri Vasar, Cor Madrigal and Cor Lieder Càmera join conductor Emmanuel Krivine at the Auditori, in Barcelona.
Fauré spent half his lifetime playing the organ and his Requiem is part of the set of poker Aces, together with those of Mozart, Verdi and Brahms. It is an intense and committed work that exceeds its sacred function.
César Franck, Fauré's colleague in the faculty of the Paris Conservatoire, composed his masterpiece at the age of 68, the Symphony in D, a sonic monument of great impact that reminds us that he also spent half his life playing the organ.
