The turbulent emotional spectrum of the Romantics is realized through the Berlin Konzerthausorchester and pianist Yeol Eum Son with their interpretation of Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky under the baton of Dmitrij Kitajenko at Konzerthaus Berlin.

One of Rachmaninoff's most enduringly popular pieces, the Second Piano Concerto is a work which marked the composer's recovery from clinical depression and writer's block, dedicated to his physician Nikolai Dahl. Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4, sometimes nicknamed 'Fate', with its emotional urgency and impressive musical architecture, embodies much of the creative Romantic era.
