L´italiana in Algeri — Gioachino Rossini

イベント情報

Stendhal called about this wonderful work "music that makes us forget the sadness of the world".  The great success of the premiere on May 22, 1813 led Rossini to say: "The Venetians are more mad than I am."

Isabella, the protagonist, is one of the most attractive and well‐rounded female characters of the classic repertoire: a modern woman, emancipated, able to voyage to the North African coast to free her beloved.
