Philharmonique de Radio France & Berlioz: Auditorio Nacional de Música

イベント情報

Since its creation in 1937, Radio France's Philharmonic has established itself as a unique group in Europe due to the eclecticism of its repertoire, its commitment to new creation and its involvement in society. This spirit has found in Mikko Franck — its principal conductor since 2015, and renewed until 2022 — an ambassador worthy of the values and ambitions of the orchestra, making each concert a human and musical experience.

In this unique concert in the Ibermúsica cycle, the group will perform two great works from the repertoire. In the first part, the acclaimed Sibeluis Violin Concerto with Hilary Hahn, winner of a Grammy Award (the second of the three it holds) for its recording in 2008.

In the second half, the orchestra commemorates the 150th anniversary of Berlioz's death with its Fantastic Symphony. Composed in 1830, the work marked a turning point in nineteenth‐century French music and is that although it is well known the story of love and obsession that inspired Berlioz to compose it, the composer himself said that 'the symphony offers a musical interest in itself, independent of any dramatic intention.
