Enlightenment thinkers argued that human knowledge could combat ignorance, superstition and tyranny to build a better world.

Three decades ago, a group of London musicians rethought the musical institution called orchestra by changing many of the unwritten but well‐established rules of the vast majority of orchestras. How? Without a single musical director, opening the frontiers of the repertoire to span several centuries and delving into the works from different perspectives.

Since then, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment drives change and seeks excellence and diversity through a profound musical exploration hypnotized to the musical world and today, almost three decades after its creation, is more appreciated than ever.

Vladimir Jurowski, one of its principal artists, affirms that this orchestra is a source of continuous inspiration for him and we hope that this appointment that closes the season will be a night of inspiration and excellence to remember.
