Ibermúsica Presents: Yefim Bronfman

イベント情報

The first recital of the 2018/2019 Ibermúsica season brings one of today's most admired pianists who will perform three fundamental works from the piano repertoire.

Schumann explained to his beloved Clare the essence of his Humoreske in a letter written on March 11, 1836:

'It's true that I haven't written to you all week but I haven't stopped thinking about you with a deep love I've never felt before. I have spent the whole week writing and composing, laughing and crying at the same time, sitting in front of the piano. And this is what you'll find in my Humoreske.'

The 15 years Debussy spent composing and revising the Suite Bergamasque gave rise to a work full of nuances and expression that would become a classic in the piano repertoire. Inspired by the poem 'Clair de Lune' by Verlaine, which gives title to the famous third movement, the work is a beautiful tribute to the French Baroque harpsichordists.

The Sonata in C minor D. 958 was one of the last works written by Schubert before his premature death in 1828. A work full of contrasts that would be admired by Schumann for its beautiful naturalness.
