『四季』はアントニオ・ヴィヴァルディの最も有名な作品です。18世紀のバロック時代に書かれたこの作品は、一年の四季を表現した4つのヴァイオリン協奏曲から成ります。 作曲家は、作品を書いた当時住んでいたマントヴァ周辺の田園風景からインスピレーションを得て、流れる小川の音や小鳥のさえずりをも作曲に取り入れました。

この記念すべき年に、彼らはアントニオ・ヴィヴァルディに捧げるコンサート・シーズンを企画。各公演では有名な『四季』の演奏に加え、ソプラノ、テノール、オーボエ、フルートがソロ奏者として舞台を交替し、見逃せないバロック音楽の第一部をお届けします。

1996年、ヴェネツィア共和国最盛期の芸術的伝統を再現する目的で設立された「イ・ムジチ・ヴェネツィアーニ管弦楽団」は、ヴェネツィアを代表する卓越した音楽家と歌手で構成されています。
オリジナルデザインに基づくバロック様式の衣装を演奏者が着用する世界唯一のクラシックオーケストラです。

ラ・セレーニッシマの全盛期の壮麗さを再現し、イ・ムジチ・ヴェネツィアーニはバロックとベルカントの珠玉の作品を、バロック時代のオリジナルパターンを忠実に再現した衣装で演奏します。サン・テオドロ大修道院のキャピトリーノホールの魔法のような雰囲気の中、ヴェネツィアの芸術と華やかさが、街の最高峰の音楽家と職人たちの技によって、観客を別の時代へと誘います。

サン・テオドーロ大修道院

スクオーラ・グランデ・ディ・サン・テオドーロは、ヴェネツィアの最初の守護聖人に捧げられた修道院である。この修道院は、市内六つの偉大な修道院群の一つに数えられる。その起源は1258年に遡るが、現在の建物は偉大な建築家トマージ・コンティンによって1579年から1613年にかけて建造された。 ファサードの頂部には、豪華な入口門の上に四人の天使とサン・テオドーロを表す五体の彫像が据えられている。これらの彫刻は17世紀後半にベルナルド・ファルコンによって制作された。 イ・ムジチ・ヴェネツィアーニは20世紀末の数年間、スクオーラ・グランデ・ディ・サン・テオドーロで彼らの魅惑的なコンサートを開始した。 このヴェネツィアの名門スクオーラでは、国際的なクラシック音楽のスターたちによるヴィヴァルディの『四季』の複数回にわたる演奏を含む、数多くのアーティストによる公演が行われてきた。

アントニオ・ヴィヴァルディ

アントニオ・ヴィヴァルディは器楽協奏曲の創始者、そして管弦楽の父として歴史に名を残した。1678年3月4日、ヴェネツィアに生まれた。ヴィヴァルディは喘息に苦しむ虚弱体質の子供だったが、それでも音楽に没頭することを止められなかった。父ジョヴァンニ・バッティスタはプロのヴァイオリニストで、長男アントニオにヴァイオリンを教えた。 父と共に、若きアントニオは当時のヴェネツィアを代表する音楽家たちと交流し、地元の教会で演奏会を開いた。またヴァイオリン教師として働き、後に孤児院オスペダーレ・デッラ・ピエタの音楽監督を務めた。その間、協奏曲、宗教曲、声楽曲を作曲し、1713年には宗教合唱曲で高い評価を得た。ヴィヴァルディはオペラの世界に魅了され、テアトロ・サン・アンジェロでオペラ作曲家兼興行主として活動した。 1717年にはマヌア公爵宮廷で世俗音楽監督という名誉ある地位を得て、1720年頃まで勤務した。この時期に世界的に有名な傑作『四季』を作曲している。 1730年代に入ると、彼の音楽は時代遅れとなり、そのキャリアは衰退。偉大な作曲家は貧困のうちにこの世を去った。ヴィヴァルディの音楽は死後忘れ去られたが、世界が再発見し再評価するには2世紀を要した。20世紀初頭、これまで知られていなかった多くの作品が発見され、音楽愛好家の心を即座に捉えたのである。

    The performance was incredible and highly worth the price of the ticket. I would have preferred the ushers act quickly on people talking or using their phones during the performance. Can’t believe people are so rude

    Wunderbares Konzert, fantastische Musiker, sehr schönes Ambiente. Was sehr störend war, die ständigen mobile Aufnahmen. Solle während des Konzertes untersagt werden. Man könnte ja die ersten 10 Miniten fotografieren. Dann aber sollte das Fotografieren untersagt werden‐ schade!

    Performance superb — especially the virtuoso violinist performing The Four Seasons in the second half. But the entry to the concert was a total shambles. Customers left standing in a line in the downstairs hall I for almost an hour while incompetent period‐costumed staff were in Venetian chaos, resulting in the concert starting 15 minutes late. Suggest you hire professional front‐of‐house staff and entry systems for future performances.

    Overall, the performance was acceptable. One had the distinct impression, however, that the pieces had been played so many times that it was almost boring to the muscians. There was no verve, no life in the performance, just a routine get‐through‐it feel to the whole thing. The musicians had no cognizance of us as an audience, i.e., showed little to no appreciation, looked snooty and bothered to be there. Everything about the perfomance was rushed--Pachabel's Canon was played at a tempo much too fast to enjoy, as was Albinoni's Adagio in G Minor. One constantly had the feeling that they weren't "in the moment", but were playing to get through to get home. Again, technically good--great sound actually--just all too fast.
