Idomeneo

イベント情報

Nikolaus Harnoncourt conducts and directs Mozart's Idomeneo, K 366, a stage production from Italian.

Almost three decades ago, Nikolaus Harnoncourt began to revolutionise our understanding of Mozart's 'classics' with 'Idomeneo', the great Munich opera. He uncovered fiery romanticism, tempestuous seas and stormy lives in the composer's richest score. His own stage adaptation, produced exclusively for the styriarte 2008, is absolutely timeless. Musically he holds fast to the original Munich version and conducts not only a host of sublime young voices, a choir and an orchestra but also the ballet, which then becomes part of the opera itself — exactly as Mozart would have planned it.
