The Goldmund Quartett – nominated by Festspielhaus Baden‐Baden and Philharmonie de Paris – already have two albums that have received significant buzz. One is dedicated to the work of Joseph Haydn and the other to Dmitri Shostakovich, two major innovators in music for quartets. We will enjoy Haydn’s masterful quartets Opus 76, and Shostakovich’s Quartet No. 3 which he withdrew after the world premiere for fear of retaliation from the severe Soviet regime. We will also hear music by Mendelssohn‐Bartholdy and a new composition by British‐Bulgarian composer Dobrinka Tabakova.
