Easter: Bergen National Opera
イベント情報
The Bergen National Opera presents Easter, a strong and touching family drama based on a play by August Strindberg, at the Grieg Hall in Bergen, Norway.
Strindberg's 'Easter' creates a delicate dream world of love and compassion. Its three acts take place on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and the eve of Easter. Composer Gisle Kverndokk, with librettist Aksel‐Otto Bull examine the themes of suffering and transcendence through forgiveness, as Strindberg portrays the traumatic events in the lives of the Heyst family, shamed and tortured by family dis‐ grace. While the story sets out a bleak sce‐ nario, the conclusion is one of spiritual uplift and illumination.
