Sara Baras examines the figure of Medusa, for her La Guardiana, in a performance which bears the hallmark of the bailaora in its storyline, choreography and direction.

Symbol of purity, Medusa, high priestess of Athena goddess of war, is raped by Poseidon, god of the sea; Athena severely punishes Medusa for losing her virginity; as well as being banished, everything she touches turns to stone and her hair is transformed into serpents. Heroes from everywhere in the world want to kill her to gain her powers. Pregnant with Poseidon's child, it is finally Perseus, son of Zeus and the mortal Diana, who kills her by decapitating her. A tragedy in a flamenco key.
