Klingenberg

The castle 'Clingenburg' was erected by Conradus Colbo in 1177. The first officially documented mentioning of the town situated below the castle is from 1276. From 1500 until 1814 Klingenberg belonged to the Archdiocese of Mainz, afterwards to the Kingdom of Bavaria.
